Personal Honesty Day towards Zero Corruption
Young Indians undertake walk from Kanyakumari to Delhi to urge personal honesty In everyday life; Promote celebration of April 8, 2012 as “Personal Honesty Day towards Zero Corruption”. Venue: Rajiv Chowk, Connaught Place, Time: 16.00 Hrs to 19.00 Hrs.
On December 18, 2011, a group of young citizens who call themselves “Proud Indians “, led by Abdul Mujeeb Khan, founder of a Hyderabad based not-‐for-‐profit organization, BHUMI, decided to embark on a 5500 kms journey across 15 states, on foot, starting from Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari. The walk will culminate at Raj Ghat, New Delhi on April 7, 2012.
“We have everyday moments of dishonesty that are also a form of corruption. For example, breaking traffic rules, downloading or buying pirated movies or throwing our packet of chips on public roads. Our individual responsibility is to work on eliminating this ‘corruption’ from our lives”. That is the seed of personal honesty according to Mujeeb & team.
The campaign urges all Indians to celebrate April 8, 2012 as “Personal Honesty Day towards Zero Corruption”.
