A unique way adopted by the Photography Club members of R.D. Rajpal School to create awareness among the youth of today was to organize a photography contest, “One World, Many Stories” at inter-school level on 7th March, 2014. More than 200 entries from about 50 reputed schools from all over Delhi and NCR highlighted the grim face of discrimination against girl child, child labour, domestic violence, ill effects of smoking, pollution, depletion of natural resources, adulteration, malnutrition, traffic jams and many others. The sensitivity of modern generation towards issues of social concern could be seen in the depth and gravity of the photographs with thought-provoking taglines.
There were two groups of contestants, 9-12 years (Group A) and 13-16 years (Group B). The first prize, a 16 MP Camera and the second prize, a 14 MP Camera were won by Shenoy Sharon of J.M International School and Ayendrila Mitra of R.D. Rajpal School in Group A and Bir Sahaj Alang of Modern Convent School and Hardik Bhatia of Bal Bharti School, Dwarka in Group B were the winners. It is the support and encouragement of Principal Alka Kshatriya that has enabled the Photography Club of the school to organize this contest for the second consecutive year.
