The International Road Federation (IRF), a Geneva based global body working for safe roads and safe road mobility worldwide along with Muskaan Froundation for Road Safety, a prominent NGO in Jaipur is organizing a day-long conference on ‘Fast Tracking Road Safety Initiatives in Rajasthan’ in the pink city of Jaipur on October 24, 2016 .
“India accounted for more than 10 per cent of the global road accidents in the year 2015 with 1,46,000 fatalities and 4,80,000 injuries. Road fatalities in Rajasthan was 10,510 which was about 4.8% of the total fatalities in the country. India is a signatory to the UN Decade of Action Plan 2011-2020 which envisages a reduction in road accident fatalities by 50% by 2020” said Mr K K Kapila, Chairman, International Road Federation (IRF).
