Ever since she forayed into the beauty business some five decades ago, Shahnaz Husain has inspired countless people all over the globe to be self reliant by getting skilled in various beauty and wellness courses.
During her recent visit to the Delhi Blind School situated at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg, New Delhi, she was highly impressed to see the students enthusiastically engaged in various vocational activities such as soap making, candle and diya making, stitching, book binding, paper craft, chair caning, acupressure, packaging etc. While every moment spent at the Blind School was truly cherishing, what really touched Shahnaz’s heart was when the students used voice activated mobile phones to take ‘selfies’ with her.
Buoyed by their positive outlook towards life, Shahnaz announced her plans of launching a new beauty training school for the students in the premises of the Blind School. With an objective of empowering the students to be financially independent, Shahnaz shared her plans of not just offering free of cost beauty training skills, but also promised Shamute and Shasight diplomas respectively for the speech and hearing, as well as the visually challenged students. Drawing a loud applause from the students and the staff, she assured them of all possible help and cooperation from her organization. What has been really commendable has been her initiative of writing a beauty book, which has been put into Braille.
