Sri Venkateshwar International School organized an Appreciation Day


Sri Venkateshwar International School, Dwarka organized an Appreciation Day of the Senior Wing to felicitate the outstanding academic, cocurricular and sports achievements of the Venkateshwarites in the session 2017-18 on Saturday, 30 June 2018. The parents of the deserving students were a part of the felicitation ceremony where in their wards were conferred with trophies and certificates along with cash prizes.

The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Madhup Kumar Tiwari, Additional Joint Commissioner Delhi Police and the Guest of Honour was Ms. Monica Vaid an accomplished Bharatnatyam exponent. The School Chairman Mr. Sailander Solanki graced the occasion and welcomed the dignitaries.

An enthralling orchestra presentation on raag ‘Purya Dhanashri’ by the school choir ‘Octave’ spellbound the audience. The school nightingale Shradha Shree and the other musical prodigies of the school enraptured the audience with their mellifluous notes. This was followed by a message for all the students by the school Principal Mrs. Nita Arora. She emphasised the need for conscience efforts with a strong self belief. She wished that society will see and nurture the goodness that is inherent in all beings.

The invocation dance for Lord Venkateshwara was a well-choreographed divine treat. The beautiful steps by the students on mridangam beats received much applause. Shakespearean play ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and a street play on women empowerment were other cultural showcases of the day which saw the students win over the audience with their confidence and poise.

The students who won the awards for Academic Excellence in the classes IX to XII in 2017-18 session were given the trophies, cups, books, certificates and cash prizes. The various categories of achievements that were honoured were the top three rank holders of each class, school scholars and toppers in specific subjects, the co-curricular achievers in performing arts, oratory skills and innovative hands. The sports achievements of the students were also felicitated. The agreeably firm gait of the students as they came upon the stage was a testimony of their confidence and high level of self belief. The Principal’s Award for Leadership was bagged by Dyutita Ajith and the Chairman’s Award for Overall Excellence by Shourya Shukla.

The Chief Guest Mr. Madhup Kumar Tiwari in his message reiterated the need for carrying on the hard work until one succeeds and he also reminisced about his school days of having won a wall clock for topping the UP State Board in comparison to the laurels, trophies and cash prizes by today’s students. He also made his observation that the present generation is much more confident than the previous ones and knows what to achieve and how.
The school Vice Principal Mrs. Shivani Gupta proposed the vote of thanks. The ceremony concluded with the rendition of the National Anthem after which the parents visited the Art Exhibition organized by the school students to showcase their creative work. They posted their remarks on the Expression Wall which have always been a valuable feedback as well as a source of encouragement for the good work that the Sri VIS fraternity is committed to.
