Sri Venkateshwar International School celebrated Appreciation Days on May 4 and May 18, 2013. The event marked the felicitation of more than 500 meritorious students in the scholastic and co-scholastic endeavours. Gp Captain Ishwar Singh, Advisor to Venkateshwar Group of Schools and Mr Sailander Solanki, Chairman Sri Venkateshwar International School were the Chief Guests for the occasion.
Professor Gauhar Raza, scientist, CSIR, Ms Henna Grover, Project Manager with the Department of Veterans Affairs, USA, Ms Kavita Soni, Principal Venkateshwar Global School, Rohini, Mr Akhilesh Pandey, media personality, Mr Akash Sharma, NIE and Dr P K Datta, noted Environmentalist graced the occasions with their benign presence.
The School Principal Ms Nita Arora welcomed and congratulated the parents on the distinguished achievement of their wards. The programme began with lamp lighting and invocation to the Almighty to ignite the mind and soul to continually strive for perfection.
Thereafter the harmonic notes of the School Choir reiterated their commitment to strive for the betterment of the nation. As the event progressed with the awards being conferred in the various categories it brought to the fore the potential of each Sri Venkateshwarite as they showcased their prowess with equal ease in both the scholastic and co-scholastic areas.
The nimble feet of the dancers showcased routines as diverse as Ranappa from Odisha to Lavani from Maharashtra. The electrifying performances lit up the stage.
It was an enriching experience as the event showcased, appreciated and cherished the multiple intelligences of all the students. Keeping in with its ideology of inculcating strong values with a penchant for achieving the Venkateshwarites won the adulation of all present. The Chief Guests complimented the students, their parents and mentors for guiding and providing opportunities for each talent to blossom.
In their address the guests restated the role of the school and parents to identify and nurture the potential of each child in the chosen field of interest. They congratulated the school in helping each student actualise his potential.
