New Delhi: 22 July,2019: The prestigious met on World Congress of Anthropology-2023 is being organized after a gap of forty five years by Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) & Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology in Bhubaneshwar. Dr. Achyuta Samanta-Founder, KIIT & KISS informed Dwarka Parichay in a Press conference held at Constitutional Club in the capital that the 19th International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES) World Congress-2023 will be held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
India hosted the IUAES World Congress only once that too way back in 1978 by Indian Anthropological Association, Delhi under the leadership of Late Professor L.P.Vidyarthi in Delhi itself. Now, KISS got the opportunity because KISS is the home for fifty thousand indigenous children, it has recognized as the World’s largest anthropological laboratory and work of Dr. Achyuta Samanta was lauded. Professor soumendra Mohan Patnaik, Vice Chancellor of Utkal University, Professor Deepak Kumar Behera-Vice Chancellor of Sambalpur University and KISS team presented the plan before the General Assembly to host this mega event in Bhubaneswar, India.
The IUAES World Congress is held after every five years in different parts of the world. Now again after a gap of more than 45 years India will be hosting this prestigious meet. It’s a matter of pride for Odisha, India hosting this mega event which is scheduled from 15-19 January,2023 and it will be attended by more than ten thousand delegates from all over the world.
The IUAES World Congress is the largest gathering of academicians and researchers in the fields of Anthropology and Ethnology in the world. In this global meet of the scholars engaged in the scientific study of humankind, KISS and Odisha would be projected in all its beauty and charm, Prof. Achuyta Samanta claimed, elaborating that it would certainly bring Odisha a lot of visibility and the entire state would be a perfect Centre for Tourism. Samanta further added that several mega events have come to the state because of the constant and sincere efforts of KIIT & KISS.
