Himachalis in Delhi Celebrate 64th “Sair Utsav” with Pride and Tradition

The Himachal Mandi Jan Kalyan Sabha marked its 64th annual “Sair Utsav” at Shah Auditorium with vibrant cultural performances and a traditional Himachali Dham feast.

Himachal Pradesh Education Minister Rohit Thakur, the Chief Guest, highlighted the state’s focus on sustainable development and announced that every Saturday, students and teachers in Himachal schools will converse in local dialects to preserve regional languages.

ITBP Deputy Inspector Rishi Raj Singh received the prestigious “Himachal Ratna Award” for his support to the Himachali community in Delhi. Minister Thakur also noted that Himachal ranks third nationally in education, boasting a 99% literacy rate.

Sabha President K.R. Verma presented the annual report, while former Cabinet Minister Kaul Singh Thakur called for priority admissions for Himachali-origin children. The Sabha also submitted a Charter of Demands to Central and State governments, addressing key community issues.

According to press note issued by Pritam Singh-General Secretary of Sabha, the celebration reflected Himachalis’ deep cultural pride and communal harmony in the capital.
