Arpit Deswal of Class VIII of Sri VIS declared the Man of the Match in Inter-School 20 overs Cricket Tournament organized at G.D. Goenka Public School

Sports team of Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sector-18, Dwarka, New Delhi have been scaling great heights. Cricket fever has caught the young children after soccer, yoga, skating and basketball.

Master Arpit Deswal is a budding cricketer with a lot of promise, who along with Master Yash Bhardwaj & Aryan Talwar, the star batsmen and Saksham Singroha & Aarav Desai – the star bowlers have made the school proud. They can be seen practising every morning in the playfield that the school has developed for the students and community.

The team overcame strong opposition from ITL Public School, Sanskriti School & G.D Goenka School on their way to finals. The other teams were from St Mary, DPS, Maxfort and St Greogorious.


In the first league match against ITL Public School, Sri VIS team made 127 runs for 6 wickets while chasing it, ITL team made 115 for the loss of 7 wickets. Yash scored 46 runs & Saksham took 4 wickets.

Against G.D. Goenka Public School, the scores were 196 for 4 as made by Sri VIS team and chasing the target, the host school made 140 for 8. Arpit scored 99 runs, missing the century by just 1 run

In the Semi Final, Sri VIS team while chasing the score of Sanskriti School of 126 runs for 8 wickets scored 127 runs for 4 wickets with 10 balls to spare. Vastwik Anand with 44 runs and Aarav Desai with 3 wickets stood out.

In the Finals, they lost to ITL, a team that they defeated in the league matches and had to settle for the Runners’ Up Trophy. In this match Aryan Talwar scored 46 runs and Aarav Desai took 4 wickets. The team is charged to carry on the tradition of winning.
