Basava gets International School Award

Basava International School was accredited by British Council for Outstanding Development of the International Learning in the Curriculum. The award ceremony organized by British Council at the Taj President, Mumbai on 19 November was attended by 500 delegates across the globe. The Principal Manimala Roy and the ISA Coordinator Sumati Padhy received the Trophy and the certificates, respectively for leading and coordinating the progaramme.

Rob Lynes, Director, British Council, India said the idea behind the programme is to give the schools a global platform so that the students get exposure to diverse culture of different countries. Emily gray, Master of Ceremony spoke at length about the use of emotions and theatre in teaching. Sam Harvey, Director British Council, West India thanked the schools for taking initiative in such programmes and how in 10 years British Council has awarded more than 500 schools in india. Principal Manimala Roy appreciated the British Council for being the torch bearer for children and encouraging them to take up challenging and multifaceted tasks. ISA Coordinator Sumati Padhy expressed her gratitude towards the school for giving an opportunity to carry out a programme of this magnitude.
