The Bharatiya Jnanpith recently launched its year long celebrations for the 70th year of the foundation and 50th year of the Award with a musical evening at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi. Renowned Flute Maestro Pt Ronu Mazumdar and Sitar exponent Shri Niladri Kumar enthralled the Delhi audience with their brilliant musical presentations. Ustad Akram Khan was at his musical best while accompanying both the artistes on the Tabla.

Pt Ronu Mazumdar played raga Puriya and a couple of bandishes and enthralled the audience which was followed by Shri Niladri Kumar’s Sitar recital where he presented raga Hemant and left the audience asking for more. The audience gave standing ovation at the end of the concert. The celebration will continue this entire year with several activities planned from the field of literature. Also present on this occasion were several prominent names from the field of literature, music and fine arts.
