BRAAMIC-music for social cause

BRAAMIC (Bade Ramdas Academy of Arts, Music and Indian Culture ) of has been consistent since 2009 in organizing cultural events focusing on social issues. Recently BRAAMIC conducted Devata Vivah featuring marriage of Valli and Lord Karthikeya who is also addressed as Muruga(younger brother of Lord Ganesha). The aim of this event was to make younger generation familiar with cultural events related to marriage customs and value of marital relationship.

In a generation where marriages have become noisy events and relationships have very short life span, this event has been organized with the participation of students of BRAAMIC with an aim to nurture cultural values among children and youth. Hari Naama Sankeertan Guru Smt. Anuradha Sri, led the event. Classical Music Guru Smt. R Aruna Sri, her daughter Nirranjana and her students conducted Valli Kalyanam by participating in Dandiya, Suvvi, Jaya mala, Deepa pradhashinam, Divya Namam and many other such customs. The events were all musically woven in a sequence. Bharat Natyam Guru Vijaya Lakshmi Ramanan’s students performed for Ashtapathi.
