DDA concludes Vigilance Awareness Week

Delhi Development Authority concluded its Vigilance Awareness Week on 4th November, 2011 as 5th November happened to be a holiday. During the week many discussions were held and all the departments were evaluated and officers responsible for excellence in their work were duly recognized on the concluding day.

Speaking on the occasion VC,DDA Shri G.S. Patnaik said that DDA has a huge public interface and due to this many visitors visit DDA for various transactions. It is the duty of every officer to ensure that the grievances are redressed on time and due courtesy is shown in dealing with public. He also emphasized the need for keeping records in a good fashion so that the information can be retrieved. All transactions should be done as per the timelines laid in the Citizen Charter and there should be total transparency in dealing with the public.

Chief Vigilance Officer, Ms. Suranjana Ray while giving details of the work done by Vigilance Branch of DDA, emphasized the need for being vigilant regarding common spaces, encroachments on the DDA land marked for various projects and also for the maintenance of the parks. According to her, the number of vigilance cases has gone down. All the employees who had done outstanding work in their departments and had contributed in maintaining transparency and showed dedication in their work were honoured. 10 officers/ officials were honoured. Director [Sports] and Director [Works] received the award on behalf of their respective departments i.e. Sports and Engineering Office.
