To ensure uniformity in maintenance / development standards for various parks of DDA, DDA has issued guidelines. These guidelines are for parks having area upto 5 acres and known as neighbourhood parks, developed all over Delhi by DDA. As per guidelines, the parks will be developed strictly as per the drawings issued with uniform designs of boundary walls and gates. There will be proper toilet blocks as per the requirement and location to be decided by the Landscape Unit of DDA in consultation with the users of the area. Rain shelter will also be provided and for irrigation purposes arrangement of water, preferably treated sewage of Delhi Jal Board shall be provided to all the parks. All the parks will have steel wire mesh which will segregate children play corner along with play area so that other park users are not disturbed and inconvenienced. There will be proper lighting arrangement and walkways with Murrum top under consolidated brick ballast. Arrangement for water harvesting will also be made in the parks wherever feasible and there will also be provision for drinking water facilities. Plantation in the park will be done with indigenous variety of plants as per approved drawings and the compound wall of the park shall have Bougainvillea on the periphery. All the lawns shall be properly grassed with adequate number of benches, dustbins etc. All the parks will have a display board giving the parks’ name, staff deployed for maintenance including watchman etc.
These Guidelines are being provided firstly to ensure uniformity in the maintenance and development standards and secondly to ensure that users of the parks are not put to any inconvenience in any way and that there is their participation in the development and maintenance of area.
