DRAW FOR ‘DDA HOUSING SCHEME-2010’ HELD

            The draw for ‘DDA HOUSING SCHEME-2010’ was held today at CDAC premises at NOIDA  and a total number of 16118 flats were allotted through a computerized draw of lots in the presence of independent observers.  The observers were [1] Dr. Prabhat Kumar, IAS [ICRISAT], Sh. B.V. Rao, Editor, Governance Now [3] Dr. Udai Shankar, Director [Finance] Ministry of Development of North East Region and [4] Shri C.K. Chaturvedi, Additional District Judge.  The total number of applications put to draw was 755075.  The flats were allotted to applicants of various categories which included EWS, 1-room tenement, 1-bedroom, 2-bedrooms and 3-bedrooms located almost all over Delhi.
  
            It may be recalled that ‘DDA Housing Scheme-2010’ was floated from 25.11.2010 to 24.12.2010.  Details of the scheme  were given in a brochure and all citizens of India, as per housing regulations, were allowed to apply.  For the first time husband and wife both were allowed to apply with the condition that the flat will be allotted to only one in case both the applicants are successful.  Having a permanent Account No. (PAN) and depositing money from one’s own account had been made mandatory and was explicitly given in the brochure.  Various reservations were also provided under the Scheme such as 17.5% for Scheduled Castes, 7.5% for Scheduled Tribes, 1% for War Widows, 1% for physically Handicapped Persons and 1% for ex-servicemen.
  
            An allotment letter will be issued within next 15 days to all the successful allottees with the request to attend the DDA Office with all original documents to verify the genuineness of the documents as well as of the applicants.  It is only after verification of the genuineness of the documents and of the Applicants that the demand letter will be issued to the successful allottees.  After the demand letter has been issued, 180 days time would be given for submission of documents and payment of money, out of which 90 days will be without interest and additional 90 days with interest.  After submission of all the documents and the money by the  applicant, possession processing will take about 60 days time.  In case any applicant would like to cancel or surrender his flat, the same can be done within a period of one month with the nominal charges.  Refund cheques to unsuccessful allottee will be issued by the end of April, 2011.

            It may be mentioned  that all flats are on cash down basis and are on free-hold basis and in the scheme for all newly constructed flats maintenance charges for the next 30 years have been included in the cost of the flats.  The flats have been allotted in various localities such as Vasant Kunj, Dwarka, Jasola, Motia Khan, Rohini, Pitampura, Jafrabad, Kondli Gharoli etc and include all categories ranging from 1-room tenements to 3-bedroom houses.
