Efforts are on to make road No. 201 jam free

Recently, Shri Rajesh Gehlot, Dy. Mayor in a meeting with Dwarka Forum informed that he is working to make road no. 201 (main road connecting Dwarka flyover with Dwarka More on Uttam Nagar Road) free from traffic signals and jams. He is working for the flyovers with loops on the entire road. He said that every park of 2.5 acre or over will have the street lights and added that the water body at Palam (Sec. 7) will be in place by the next year. Mr. Gehlot also requested the DF to suggest an appropriate space for proposed two mini football grounds. On DF complaint of diverting one MGD water meant for Dwarka area to Airport and to compensate this loss by increasing water supply, he assured that he will try for his best for this though the Delhi Jal Board is under the Delhi Government. He also informed that the DDA has made the payment to the BSES for replacing the overhead cables underground and sought co-operation of the Dwarka Forum in the early completion of this task by taking up this issue vigorously with the BSES. He also suggested the Forum to work in the direction of completion of private hospital on the land allotted to the Muthoot group and continue its efforts for the early start of 750-bed hospital at Dwarka. DF informed him that the original period allowed for the construction of the hospital at sector 10 has lapsed and even the extended period of 2 years is nearing to lapse. DF decided to file an RTI application to the DDA on the issue.

NOW, THE CAR BAZAR HAS COME UP IN FRONT BRAHMA APPARTMENTS, Sector- 7, Dwarka

On the one hand, the govt. is removing the food vans illegally parked at service lanes and footpaths in Dwarka, on the other hand, a car bazaar has come up in front of Brahma Appartments, Sector 7 blocking the free flow of traffic. On the footpath on this road, the potters (Kumhars) have already set up their shops.

It is not known if this Bazaar has the permission of Traffic Police or is encroaching the main road. Though, car bazaars are the requirement of time, these should not block the road and should be allowed only on such spots where they do not put any hinderenace to free flow of traffic. By this way, the govt. (DDA/ MCD) may also earn money by way of Tehbazari charges.
