Sehar Bajwa, who is currently pursuing her International Baccalaureate Diploma in class 12 from the Shri Ram School, Moulsari, Gurgaon , got inspired to empower the children, while writing a research paper on school drop-out rates in Punjab last year. “I was alarmed at the statistics released by UNESCO Institute for Statistics and Global Education Monitoring Report that 47 million adolescents in India have not progressed to upper secondary school, and remain unemployable” said Ms Sehar Bajwa, the founder of initiative Ánmol Siksha’
“ I wishes to take Anmol Shiksha to a scalable level, which will help enrich the lives of students residing in rural areas and allow them to become better-informed citizens who can constructively contribute to India’s growth. The advent of www.anmolshiksha.com will ultimately help serve the aggressive Make in India campaign and thereby raise the standards of living of Indian citizens.” Said beaming Ms Bajwa.
“It is the my ultimate vision to equip each child with skills that will help transform children from job seekers to job creators.After success of Anmol Siksha Derrabassiproject, I plan to set up similar projects in states of Haryana , Punjab and Uttarakhand ” She added.
Sehar did her earlier schooling at Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun and undertook couple of undergraduate courses from Harvard University Boston, where she had the opportunity to work with the underprivileged .
