Independence Day Celebrated at The Indian Heights School

The 67th Independence Day was celebrated at the The Indian Heights School, Sector-23, Dwarka on August 14, 2013, with gaiety and patriotic fervor. The school campus was decorated with Tri colour Flags and Balloons and was bubbling with the spirit of patriotism. Chief Guest Brig. Sudhir Jhakkar and Guest of Honour Retd. Col. R.S. Tokas and Col. Sant Tehlan presided over the function. Chief Guest Brig. Sudhir Jhakkar unfurled the Tri-Colour, released the balloons and paid tribute to the martyrs and urged the students to follow their footsteps and motivated the students to carry the flame of Independent India to greater heights. The Principal of the school, Ms. Archana Narain also addressed the gathering and took a pledge along with the students to unite together for a common goal, to uphold the values and make our country the best in the world.

The students of TIHS also presented a colorful cultural programme. The highlights of the programme were a Street play, Arabian dance and a scintillating musical drama by the students where they depicted the journey of India’s Independence which left the audience spellbound. The celebration culminated with the distribution of sweets.
