N K Bagrodia Public School, Sector-4, Dwarka, organized Inter Bagrodian Dance Competition on August 27, 2016. It was a competition between 3 schools- N K Bagrodia Public School, Dwarka, Sector-4, N K Bagrodia Global School, Dwarka and N K Bagrodia Public School, Rohini. The competition was organized with an aim to further strengthen the legacy of the founder President, late Sh. N K Bagrodia, who believed in providing not only quality education but also necessary skills and stimulation to young learners to ensure their holistic development. It was an endeavor to continue with the earnest efforts the school has always been making- to strive to identify, nurture and hone what is unique to each child.
At NKBPS, one of the utmost concerns is to keep today’s young brigade in touch with our culture and heritage. Hence, the competition comprised three dance categories- Classical, Folk and Western. There were two categories for performances- Group and Solo. Students of Pre School, Preprimary, Class I to IX and class XI participated in the competition. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed Chairperson, Smt. Pushpa Devi Bagrodia, the director Dr. S K Bhattacharya , the honourable members of management- Mr. Dinesh Kumar Gupta and his wife Mrs. Manju Gupta. The chief guest for the event was Ms.Shikha Sharma, a renowned Kathak dancer who is also a graded artist of Delhi Doorsarshan. The honourable judges for the competition were Ms. Antara Roy, a famous Odissi performer and Ms. Reema Das, a famous Bharatnatyam Dancer.
The event commenced with a prayer followed by lamp lighting ceremony. After that, the torch bearer of the school, the principal, Dr. Rajee N. Kumar, welcomed the Chairperson, the director, members of the management, chief guest and the judges- and presented them with the mementos. The director, Dr. S K Bhattacharya gave a welcome address in honour of the chief guest and the judges.
The competition proved to be a foot tapping journey and witnessed some awe-inspiring performances by the students of all classes. From the tiny tots of Pre School to the students of Class XI, everyone danced with dynamic energy and superb expressions. Through their performances, the participants presented myriad hues of our rich culture and heritage which is replete with plethora of wonderful dance forms. It was an occasion which added another feather in the cap of NKBPS, Sector-4, Dwarka, as all the prizes in all categories were bagged by its talented students. Their performances left the audience as well as the judges spell bound.
The chief guest, Shikha Sharma, blessed all the students and encouraged them to scale new heights. It was followed by the much awaited prize distribution ceremony which was indeed a time of jubilation and merry making. The event culminated with a vote of thanks.
