The eventful and vibrant morning of 26 November, 2012 witnessed the undying energy and mesmerizing performances of JMIANS, leaving the viewers gasped and proud as JM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL celebrated its Annual Day ‘AURA 2012’ and prize distribution ceremony in Air Force Auditorium, Dhaula Kuan.
The event began with lighting of lamp and welcome speech by school Principal Ms Anuradha Govind wherein greetings were offered to Chief Guests Prof. (Dr.) Balbir Singh, The Former Head of Commerce Deptt, Delhi University and Ms Anita Setia, Director SCERT & Regional and Additional Director of Education, DOE, Delhi. School Chairman, Mr RB Gupta and Mr Yogesh Gupta, Director JMIS and honorable members of advisory board.
In her address to students, parents and teachers, The Honourable Guest, Ms Anita Setia encouraged educators and guardians to help children explore their caliber & potential enabling them to reach their life’s goal.
School orchestra band Goonj’s presentation won the heart of audience with its amazing combination of Sur and Tal which was followed by award ceremony ‘Paritosh’. Meritorious students were honoured for their sheer hard work and excellent performances in all the interschool and in-house competitions. The laughter punches of Hasya Kavi Sammelan resulted in thunderous appreciation. ‘Naman’- the semi classical dance recital and creative dance medley ‘Namaste India’ reverberated the stage by their exuberant rendition. Not the least, the harmonious presentation ‘Yeh Sara Jahan’ by ‘Dhwani’ the JMIS vocal music society filled the viewer’s heart and atmosphere with tranquility and serenity. The showstopper was drama presentation- KALYUG KA EKLAVYA by JMIS theatre group – Drishtikon. This magnificent production was mélange of street play, ballet and one act play which was not only a laugh riot but also a thought provoking satire on the present scenario of Guru and Shishya, parenting and the influence of media. The event concluded by the vote of thanks by the principal. She congratulated the students and teachers for their scintillating performances and contribution in making the programme a great success.
