Pandit Nehruji’s birthday, is celebrated as children’s day all over India . It is day of fun and frolic, a celebration of childhood and Nehruji’s love for them.
At MBS, Children’s Day celebrations began with a special assembly conducted by the faculty members. The students were given a warm welcome by their class teachers. They presented handmade cards and roses to their students as a token of their love& affection. Ms Seema Rai spoke on the significance of Children’s Day celebration.
‘A school day’ a humorous play put up by the pre-primary faculty members had students bursting out in laughters. They also enjoyed the dance and song show presented by the faculty. Ms Sangeeta Jha shared points on the ‘Rights of a child’
The children enjoyed participating in fun sports and cultural activities.
There were a galore of sporting activities for the tiny tots where Raina Hussain, Diya and Ritveik won the ‘Hopping race’, while the’ Biscuit and Banana race’ was won by Akarshan Pal, Jatin and Aryan.
The winners of the ‘Fill the bucket race’ and the ‘100 mts race’ were Vishal, Khushi, Aparana, Advika, Manyavee and Pulkit.
Inter-house sports events like ‘Three legged race’, ‘Sack race’ and the ‘Relay race’ for the primary students had each house member cheering for their house. Games like ‘Aim and Ring the item’ and ‘Aim the Basket ball Ring’ were enjoyed by one and all present.
The highlight of the day was ‘Tug of war’ that was keenly contested between the students and the faculty members, wherein the students were the undisputed winners.
The festivities of the day had nutritious edge- an inter-house competitions on ‘Cooking Without Fire’ was held. The Chairman & Director of the school adjudged the resentations of alad, Fruit Chaat and Biscuit decorations.
Every house was a winner in their own way. Teresa house won for overwhelming participation, while Vivekananda house won for innovative ideas. Tagore house won for neat & tidy display. Curie house for the best dressing n presentation.
Whole-hearted participation by the parents in various activities organized for them also added another creative dimension to the occasion. The enthusiastic parents displayed their creative skills in a ‘Photo Collage-My Child’ competition and creative poetry writing in praise of their children. They were all read out in the assembly.
On behalf of the students, the School Captain Master Arjun Chaurasia and the Sports Captain Master Priyanshu Jain expressed their heartfelt gratitude. To quote them “This has been one of the best days, where we truly enjoyed each and every competition that was held in the school for us today. We eagerly look forward to participate in many such competitions in times ahead”.
Celebrating Children’s Day is about giving children the right to enjoy and grow into healthy and educated citizens of the country, The day became more significant by contribution of old books by the children to keep up the spirit of National education day.
