Lions Club Dwarka – Serving for Noble cause


Mission: Beginning in 1917 , the association of Lions clubs has provided millions of people with the opportunity to give something back to their communities Known for working to end preventable blindness , Lions participate in a vast variety of projects important to their communities. These projects range from cleaning up local parks to providing supplies to victims of natural disasters . Lions are an international network of 1.3 million men and women in 200 countries and geographic areas who work together to answer the needs that challenge communities around the world. Lions Club Delhi Dwarka was formed in March, 2006. Since its formation, It has done various community service projects the details of which are as under: Community work: June 04, 2006 (Sunday) – General Health Check-up camp was organized in Sector-4, Dwarka in which about 120 persons were checked for Diabetes and Blood Pressure. July 09, 2006 (Sunday) : Visit to Bal Vihar Orphanage at Bengali Colony, Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi – 110 045: · Members of LCDD donated several grocery items (like Rice, Atta, Dal, Sugar, Cooking Oil, Biscuits, Chocolates, etc) with about Rs 5,000/- which are used at Bal Vihar Orphanage. About 100 orphans (majority girls) are staying here. The members spent about 2 Hrs with the inmates of the Orphanage enquiring about their welfare. September 10, 2006 (Sunday) : LCDD gifted Rs 5,100/- on the occasion of marriage of Bal Vihar Orphanage inmate Ms Jasvinder with Mr Rahul Tandel. October 13, 2006 (Friday) : (District Project Day) Free Eye Check-up Camp at Sector –9, Dwarka, New Delhi – 110 075 An eye check-up camp was orgsnised at ITL Public School in which about 350 children got eye-sight checked-up. Dr (Mrs) Sangeeta Mutreja was kind enough to lend her support for performing the eye check-up camp. November 05, 2006 (Sunday) : Anaemia Free Dwarka Project in Sector – 4, Dwarka, New Delhi – 110 075. 86 persons visited the Camp and got their Hemoglobin checked in which 3 persons were found anemic and were given medical advice by Lion Dr. R.K.Sharma and Dr. (Mrs.) Anshu Sharma December 03, 2006 (Sunday) : Anaemia Free Dwarka Project in Sector – 3, Dwarka, New Delhi – 110 075. About 67 persons visited the Camp and got their Hemoglobin checked. 3 persons were found anemic and were given medical advice by Lion Dr. R.K.Sharma and Dr. (Mrs.) Anshu Sharma
April 01, 2007 (Sunday) : Free Eye Check-up Camp at Kakraula Village, New Delhi About 68 persons visited the Camp and got their Eye sight checked-up. Dr (Mrs) Rajeshwari Kulkarni was kind enough to lend her support for performing the eye check-up camp at Kakraula Village. May 20, 2007 (Sunday) : Visit to Ayudham Society, Home for Senior Citizens at Village Rewla Khanpur; Jhatikara Marg; Near Najafgarh; New Delhi – 110 043 · Members of LCDD donated one number of Exercise Bicycle (worth Rs 4,300) for senior citizens, and gifted fruits like Mangos, Banana, etc. The members spent about 3 Hrs with the senior citizens enquiring about their welfare, and the members had lunch together with Senior Citizens.
