23rd Feb., 2012 FICCI’s MSME Summit with the theme “Innovation & Clusters” held at FICCI, Federation House, New Delhi. The summit was jointly organized by FICCI & Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium enterprises, Govt. of India. The role & scope of the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium enterprises in the overall industrial economy of India were discussed extensively. The Government of India has taken different initiatives to strengthen this sector. The policy framework of 12th Five Year Plan for the development of MSMEs was also the hot topic of the summit. The advanced technologies facilitate the business and help an organization to gain. I am fine a competitive edge over the other. It not only makes the work easier and faster but helps an organization achieve economies of scale. Best practices should be adopted and if they are not accessible then Research should be promoted to develop similar kind of technology and capacity building in India.
The panel discussion on new emerging technologies and best practices being adopted worldwide for encouraging R&D and innovation amongst MSMEs for improving their competitiveness and sustainability. The benefits of adopting green and clean technologies was another important issue discussed in the Summit.
