The dignity of work, also known as the dignity of labour, is the philosophy that all types of jobs are respected equally, and no occupation is considered superior. To do work with one’s own hands is very a useful habit. There is nothing shameful or undignified in it. We find that in this world we can have nothing without work.

Dignity of work day was celebrated on 21st October 2016 in our school. A variety of activities were conducted to sensitize students on how all kind of labourers play a vital role in our day to day life and how they get neglected.

An array of grade appropriate activities were designed for different classes which witnessed enthusiastic participation by the students. Class VI students wrote wonderful slogans which meant to glorify the work of different labourers. Class VII students brought gifts beautifully wrapped by contributing from their pocket money and went to give it to the children of labourers. This activity made them sensitive towards the people who are really not very well off in life and can’t afford all types of luxury. VIII class students were encouraged for contributing in SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN and it was initiated by cleaning their school premises. IX class students made posters on “Dignity Of Work” some were really creative and nice. Class X students portrayed the life of labourers and their important in our life through a skit.

Overall the students spread awareness and sensitised the students about the importance of labourers in our life. They understood any kind of workdone sincerely is like worshiping God.
