The students from The Indian Heights School, Sector 23, Dwrka participated in India’s biggest ‘No Honking Campaign’ on April 30, 2015 organized by ‘The Earth Savior Foundation’ and NGO. The purpose of this Campaign was to educate the general pubic and the drivers not to blow horn unnecessarily while driving in order to control noise pollution in our environment. The venue of the Campaign was at Noida toll bridge, DND flyover. This Campaign was wholeheartedly supported by UP Police, DND Flyway and T.E.S.F. The students of the Indian Heights School carried placards, flashing meaningful messages and slogans as well as wore colourful head gears to generate awareness on ‘No Honking Campaign’. The students along with hundreds of other volunteers pasted ‘Do Not Honk’ stickers and distributed pamphlets to the passers by and the locals of the areas. Dr. Pritender Singh (IPS) SSP, Noida Police, was also present there and appreciated the efforts of our students in sensitizing the masses about the impact of honking. This Campaign became a source of a very positive awareness about the detrimental impact on the health due to noise pollution not only to the local people and drivers but also to our students and their parents. The students of the school took a pledge that they will keep spreading this awareness to anybody & everybody they come across who is blowing the horn to save our mother earth from noise pollution.
