ANHLGT organized a grand function on the 6th and 7th of October 2012 for the inauguration of first sector wise playground in sector-23 Dwarka at park no 5. More than a thousand people participated in the event. The event took place from 2:30pm to 6pm in which 300 ladies were given prizes for their participation in games from various sectors of Dwarka. 250 children who took part in various sports like football, cricket, TT, badminton, lawn tennis etc. got medals and trophies. The event also included cultural program by children and ladies. There were 30 stalls of jewelry, handmade food , handicraft items, etc.
Speaking on the occasion Cicily Kodiyan President ANHLGT said it was matter of great pride that the playground has been allocated in sector 23 and other sectors also be getting similar playground shortly. ANHLGT is committed in making the playground projects a reality so that children have a healthy and bright future and requested all residents to actively use the playgrounds. Vice chairman DDA Shri. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava inaugurated the playground and dedicated the park for the children. Chief Vigilance officer DDA Mr. Gulati, Chief Engineer Mr. S.R Solanki, Director horticulture Mr. R.S.Chahar were also present to grace the occasion. The traditional lamp was lit and saplings were planted by Shri. S.K. Srivastava to inaugurate the playground.
The meeting was attended by citizens from various sectors of Dwarka President ANHLGT Mrs. Cicily Kodiyan on her welcome note thanked the DDA and horticulture Department for their co-operation in vision to make Dwarka green, clean, beautiful and safe. Speaking on the occasion the VC was very happy to note the positive feedback that DDA has received in Dwarka and assured the gathering that all the pending works would be looked in to soon. Shri. Srivastava applauded the playground initiative and assured that the playground projects in Dwarka would be completed soon as the playground are very essential for keeping children as well as Senior Citizen to keep them healthy and active. He assured all the playgrounds will be maintained properly and on a regular basis.
Secretary ANHLGT Shameera Ashroff presented the a memorandum requesting VC that sector-23 be made a model sector of Dwarka and a list of all pending civil, horticulture and electrical works. ANHLGT also requested the VC to ensure that the works undertaken in the model sector should be replicated in all sectors of Dwarka to make it a modern sub city. In the public interaction session the VC answered all queries patiently on wide ranging issues from park upkeep to road repair, vacant plots, lighting etc and assured all necessary cooperation from DDA. There was a prize distribution ceremony for ladies cricket winners, the medals were presented by Shri Srivastava and Shri Gulati CVO DDA. At the end of the event the VC took a round of sector-23 for first hand information along with the other officials residents.
