The very gifted orators from JM International School proved their mettle yet again in Maverick Venture’s Speaker of the Year contest. This year, the nation-wide competition aims to uncover the best ideas with respect to its theme – The Great Indian Heritage.
98 students (from grade IV to XI) from JMIS contested against each other to make through the preliminary rounds, which were held on 15th October 2016. A personal interview round was conducted to understand students’ perception with respect to the theme, and to also deliberate upon new techniques, thoughts and ideas, to overcome the degradation of Indian heritage.. a predicament we are all witnessing at present.
This was followed by a speak shoot round, where the young marvels presented their views on Indian Heritage as they were shot on a video camera. The round tested their confidence along with their public speaking competence.
At the end of the preliminary rounds, 13 students were awarded with a trophy for their exceptional performance, and 4 have been selected to interact with RJ Panky of HIT 95 FM on 28th October 2016. The selection for the finale is yet to be announced, but the fervor to make a mark in the finale, and to win the coveted title, can be sensed all around the school campus!
