“Appreciation can make a day, even change a life”
Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sector 18, in its endeavour to encourage and appreciate the year long efforts of the shining stars of Classes III- V for the session 2017-2018 , celebrated Appreciation Day on July 7, 2018. The Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Sailander Solanki, the School Chairman and Ms. Anju Mehrotra , Director Principal – Kalka Group of Institutions, was the Guest of Honour.
The event commenced with ceremonial lamp lighting followed by the welcome address by the School Head Learner, Ms. Nita Arora. She spoke about the need to clap more often, for clapping not just brings a smile on the face but strengthens the health by activating all the prominent nerves in the body. She also congratulated the young achievers as well as their parents for their achievements and consistent efforts all through the year.
The first performance was a beautiful rendition of “Jahan ho pyaar ka mausam”, emphasizing the need of peace and unity in the world. It was followed by applauding the students for their scholastic as well as co- scholastic proficiency. Apart from these, as a part of the school’s efforts towards inculcating values of care, concern, compassion and courtesy, students were awarded for their exemplary conduct throughout the year.
The event also had students showcasing their talents through a mesmerizing Indian dance – “Krishna Raas Leela” and the school junior band’s percussion recital that left the audience spell-bound. The students also presented a Street Play depicting the importance of books in our lives. The Guest of Honour, Ms. Anju Mehrotra, spoke about uniqueness of each individual and emphasized about healthy learning environment.
All the young achievers took the stage once again in the grand finale and were cheered by their proud parents and grandparents. Ms. Shama Kapoor, Primary Wing Headmistress, proposed the vote of thanks.
