The environs of Sri VIS witnessed a plethora of exuberance and fun as the children of Class III showcased ‘Triumph over self’, the Helen O Grady Day which is a Speech and Drama Activity integrated with the curriculum on February 2, 2019.
The day began with the Chief Guest, Mr Sailender Solanki, School Chairman, the Guests of Honour, Brig S S Malik, Ms Sakshi Managing Partner HOGI, Ms Meenakshi Puri, Principal, HOGI and Ms Nita Arora, the Co Learner and Co Creator at Sri VIS lighting the lamp of knowledge. The guests were welcomed with a green accord. The school principal addressed the gathering and shared her views about uniqueness of each child and the awakening of self at school.
The show began with the invocation of the blessings of Maa Saraswati through a classical dance performance by the children. It was followed by story enactments on -The Grasshopper and the Ants, The Giant Octopus and ‘ All the Fun at the Funfair’ showcasing different speech activities such as Improvisation, Verbal Dynamics, Mime to Music respectively
The guests, the parents and the grandparents were enthralled as the children presented the live drama complimented with dances. The school auditorium resonated with the applause as the cast moved in for the grand finale.
Brig S S Malik shared his words of wisdom and encouragement with the students as well as their parents, hoping that all schools in India will promote such activities. Ms Sakshi shared the special bond that HOGI shares with the students of Sri VIS family. Ms Meenakshi highlighted the significance of soft skills in life. The show ended with the HM Primary Wing , Ms. Premlata Choudhary, proposing the vote of thanks.
