Sri VIS, Sector-18, Dwarka Celebrated VIVAAN-The Annual Day

Sri VIS celebrated its Annual day VIVAAN, showcasing the path of being selfless and fearless through the dance drama ‘Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, on November 1, 2015.

Mr. Dependra Pathak, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, Delhi South-West Region was the Chief Guest for the occasion. The Guests of Honour were Ms. Kirti Baweja, Officer – Culture, Education & Science, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany. The other distinguished guests included the Founder Chairman Shri Rajpalji, Mr. Rajiv Solanki, Chairman Venkateshwar Global School, and Mr Sailander Solanki, Chairman Sri VIS.

The School Principal Ms Nita Arora welcomed the guests and presented the school report highlighting the strong focus on Values, Scholastic and the Co-scholastic dimensions at Sri VIS. The mood of the evening was set by the budding singers and lilting notes of the school orchestra Jh Octave who left the audience besieged with their musical compositions. 

The lamp lighting was followed by the invocation dance to seek divine blessing of Maa Saraswati, Maa Durga, Maa Lakashmi and Maa Kali –incarnates of the Shakti. In the felicitation ceremony of classes VI-XII, the students who had excelled through their multifaceted talent and who had proved their mettle in the field of academics were awarded merit certificates and cash prizes. The sportsperson who had made a mark at the National Level were also given due cognizance along with students who outshined in the co-curricular arena.

The brilliant portrayal of ‘Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’ by the young and exuberant performers showcased the life of the protagonist and his belief in the ideals he held, notwithstanding the conditions. The audience sat back overwhelmed by the fine artistry and stage set up which transported them back to the time of the Indian freedom struggle with each presentation. 

The stellar performances came to an end with a spirited finale which saw all the scintillating performers assemble for the last bow. The Chief Guest Mr. Dependra Pathak, IPS (Jt. Commissioner of Police, South Western Range) exhorted the students to showcase their best in all that they strive for to attain the pinnacle of success and work together as Indians. He reminded them of their future bigger role in the world and asked them to prepare for it now only. He effusively praised the school for its nurturing of the students.
Parents and other dignitaries were also seen to be very positive and upbeat about VIVAAN & the school. Mrs R.Bano Preeya HM – Sr. Wing moved the vote of thanks.
