As a step towards bringing international dimension to the curriculum of the school, and as a part of Connecting Classroom Program under the flagship of British Council, The Indian Heights School, Sector 23, Dwarka hosted a Teacher Exchange Program with Whitchurch Primary School, Cardiff, UK from March 16, 2015 to March 20, 2015. Ms. Ann Griffin, Head Teacher and Mr. Kevin Lomax, Deputy Head Teacher of Whitchurch Primary School came for a five day visit to our school. The highlights of this program were to get a perspective on our education system, sharing the teaching methodologies and observing classroom teaching.
A traditional welcome ceremony was organized and the esteemed guests were warmly received by the school Chairperson, Ms. Madhu Gupta and the Principal, Ms. Archana Narain. A special Cultural program was organized to give them the glimpses of India. In her welcome address, the school Principal Ms. Archana Narain elucidated the fast changing trends in education and how an international dimension is becoming an integral part of the curriculum as the world is stepping towards globalization in every aspect of human growth.
During their weeklong stay, the guests observed the classroom teaching of Kindergarten, Primary and Senior wings of the school, exchanged teaching-learning methodologies and understood the rich culture and heritage of India. They explored our capital city by visiting India Gate, Red Fort, Old Fort, Gandhi Smriti, & Iskon Temple. A visit to Agra was also a part of the program.
The Teacher Exchange Program concluded with the exchange of souvenirs. In her goodbye address, Ms.Griffin, the Head Teacher of Whitchurch Primary School, expressed her happiness for a warm welcome by the host school and a very successful and fruitful Teacher Exchange Program . She said that she is looking forward to strengthen this bond of friendship between both the schools.
