Sri Venkateshwarites celebrated ‘Learning by Doing’ in the form of a theatre presentation on the bright and sunny morning of May 18, 2016. It was a perfect amalgamation of education with theatre, a presentation by the sixth graders.
The distinguished guests were welcomed with eco friendly planters as mementos, an extension of our go-green drive and also a theme of one of the presentations on Global warming.
Ms Nita Arora, the Principal of SVIS in her welcome speech, apprised the parents about transition in learning. She explained how the lessons from the curriculum had been woven in the form of stories to make learning comprehensive and interesting. She captivated the audience with her spell bounding speech.
The Guest of Honour Prof. Kuljeet Singh, Founder Director- Atelier Theatre Group & Academician at Delhi University enthralled everyone with his words of wisdom. He shared his experiences and his punch line, was a food for thought… “A good actor is one, who does no acting”. Mr Sailander Solanki, the Chairman of SVIS graced the occasion with his benign presence. The event began with evoking blessings of the Almighty, the traditional lamp lighting followed by Ganesh Vandana.
The event was an elaborate theatrical presentation showcasing the concepts of Mathematics, History, Science, Languages and Life Skills, One nation- One Community. Breaking the barriers of language and crossing international borders were themes that kept the audience mesmerized. There were foot tapping dances and the culmination was a ramp show on France, depicting the culture, symbols, cuisine and dancers of France. This was followed by a vote of thanks by the Headmistress Middle Wing, Ms Ritu Vashisht. The event culminated with a grand finale. Overall it was a scintillating experience for one and all.
