UMANG celebrated at Paramount International School Dwarka


UMANG – a cultural programme on the theme of Indian Culture was held at Paramount International School, Sector 23, Dwarka on 14th Feb’15. The sprightly students of Classes III-IX participated in the event.

The Chief Guest of the day Shri J.S.Saroha ,Chairman, Paramount International School, was accorded a floral welcome by Mrs. Poonam Verma,the Activity Incharge of the school.The welcome address by Mrs.R.L.Saroha,M.D.set the ball rolling and the inauguration sought the divine blessings before the stage was set on fire.In her address, Mrs.Saroha stated that by participating in extra curricular activities, students take pride in their accomplishments because of which they gain better self respect, self esteem, and self confidence.Hence,the school keeps organising such programmes from time to time .She also asserted the reason for choosing Indian Culture as the theme for the programme by stating that it is very necessary to make our children aware of this rich Indian culture at an early age so that they follow and respect it.

Paramount School saw life and energy being propelled into the cultural trousseau of India .The vibrancy with which India’s ‘unity in diversity’ was conceptualised through folk dances captivated the crowd and the Dance Medleys threw the arena into a maddening applause.

The students presented a cultural tour of India with the rhythmic Indian folk dances from across the states of our country. The breath taking Sarawati Vandana unfurled the plethora of vibrant performances.The Kashmiri dance was a worthy successor to the melodious and feet-tapping Rajasthani dance. Then came the upbeat Bihu dance followed by the energetic Garba . The colourful dancers of Maharashtra won a thunderous applause with their robust performance. Thereafter was the turn of a peppy Goan dance and finally the evergreen Bhangra of Punjab.

The kaleidoscope of the vibrant colours & cultures of India had the audience watching in rapt attention and cheering the students with their enthusiastic applauds. The energetic and vivacious compering further enhanced the magnetism of each performance.

The Annual School report highlighting the achievements of the students and progress of the school was presented by Mrs.Nisha Chadha,HOD English Department.

The Vote Of Thanks was presented by Mrs.Rashmi Bajpai,Principal, Paramount International School. Cheer and thrill filled the air and kept everyone spellbound.Umang brought out the essence of cultural diversity and rich heritage of the country. It was a fresh breath that soothed the souls and inspired the young generation to follow the ancient traditional values of supreme love and sacrifice.
