Uttarakhand Chetna Manch – Dwarka (UCMD) which is a registered socio-cultural welfare organization based at Dwarka, New Delhi successfully organised “Uttarakhand Mahotsav” (Kauthig), a 3-day cultural programme for the aid of Orphanage and Senior Citizens. Mahotsav was inaugurated by Shri Somesh Shokeen, MLA – Dwarka.
Folk singers, dancers from various regions of Uttarakhand like Garhwal, Kumaon, Jaunsar presented scintillating performances. Well known singers like Gajendra Rana, Chander Singh Rahi, Meena Rana, Bishan Hariyala, Asha Negi, Mukesh Kathait. Geetika Aswal, etc mesmerized the audience with their melodious songs. Audience had a good laugh with hillarious Kishna Bagot’s jokes etc.
As Mahotsav was for the aid of Orphanages & Old Age Homes,UCMD organised Free Health Check Up Camp especially for ‘Bal Vihar – Children Home’ kids (an orphanage in Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi) alongwith Artemis hospital. Specialised doctors checked each child with utmost care and prescribed further treatment. There was Free health check up for Old age / Senior Citizens as well on all three days.
In keeping with our commitment towards social welfare, UCMD announced donation of Free Milk of around Rs.45000/- for some months to orphanage, Bal Vihar. Shri Somesh Shokeen, MLA of Dwarka handed over the donation letter to Bal Vihar officials Smt Janet Chauhan, Mr Anjum Chowdhary and Ms Sunita Chauhan. UCMD very much wish to bring these kids forward on a social platform where they could be part of the mainstream society and in keeping with this motto, Bal Vihar kids performed a beautiful folk dance on stage in front of a large audience. Bal Vihar kids and officials enjoyed the function and later on they all were served with refreshment.
There were many Stalls / Exhibits put up at the Mahotsav like there were exhibits of Uttarakhand Govt’s Handicraft ‘Himadri’, UK Tourism Stall & Organic & famous Food Products Stall and other eating joints etc. Tasty pahari food was also available. There were many swings, magic man, games etc for children who had great fun. People enjoyed the Mahotsav and had a good time at the mela.
UCMD Executive Committee Members, Mr M R Sirswal, Mr Anand Rawat, Mrs Savitri Rawat, Mr Vinod Rawat, Mrs Harsha Lakhera, Mr R S Chauhan, Mr R C Sundriyal, Mr Dinesh Lakhera, were appreciated by one and all for their hard work, dedication and for the successful completion of this mega social cum cultural show.
