Plants they say are most sensitive and can understand your emotions. Shamshan ghat is a place where a person goes with a heavy heart. Manmohan Gupta, Yoga trainer and North India Silver medalist alongwith Urmila Sharma of Dwarka Progressive club decided to provide green solution to visitors. They organized a tree plantation drive last week at Shamshan ghat Sector-24. Manmohan Gupta and Urmila Sharma, Radhika Sharma, Balender Singh visited Shamshan ghat on 15th August to find out the requirements and talked to the pundits Luvkush Bharadwaj and Ramesh Bharadwaj regarding number of trees need to be planted and where it could be planted. The bushes were cleared and tree plantation was done on Sunday, 20th August, 2017.
The chief guest for the occasion was Kamaljeet Sherawat, Mayor and Nitika Sharma, Councillor of Dwarka. Many members of Dwarka Progressive Club were also present including Ranjita Bhattacharya, Pratima Jain, Shubha Duggal, Sangita Singhal, Sushma Pahuja, Rajinder Kachroo, Meena Singhal and many others. They planted several plants like Jackfruit, Jamun, mango, Bel Patra, Gullar, Ashoka trees etc. Manmohan Gupta, donated fruit plants and rest were given by SDMC and Dwarka Progressive Club. Kamaljeet Shehrawat, Mayor appreciated the efforts done by members of the club and asked them to maintain Shamshan ghat. This will also help in taking out fear of people for Shamshan ghat.
