A poor couple lived in a small village in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. They had only one son. They gave him the best education they could afford. The son graduated as an Engineer in the nearby city. Eventually, got married to a girl who was his calls fellow during his engineering and belonged to a rich business family. Their parents were happy that their days of living with meagre means and very economical standard of living, shall come to an end soon. Initially, the newly married coupe lived with his parents in the village. Soon the wife got tired of the village life and she persuaded her husband to move to the city leaving the old parents in the village. The boy’s parents tried their level best to prevail upon the wishes of the young couple, but somehow, did not succeed.
As time passed by, the boy saw an ad in the newspaper about a few vacancies in an engineering company located at Jeddah. He applied for a job there and was successful in getting that and hence, he shifted to Jeddah and thus, lived there for years with his wife. Regularly, he used to send some money to his parents. Eventually, with the passage of time, he stopped sending them money and was made to forget his old parents and the sacrifices they had made to educate him and live a decent life.
Every year he performed haj and immediately after each haj, he used to see someone telling him in a dream that his haj is not accepted. One day he related this story to a pious Aalim who advised him that his old parents in India are yearning to see him as they may be living a life of the destitutes, with no one of their blood relations to take a good care of them. He further advised him to go back to India to visit his parents and must know what they want from their young son in their twilight years.
The man flew to India and reached the boundary of the village. Everything had changed there. So many new house had come up there. He could not find his house. Then, he noticed a young boy playing in the street went to him and enquired about the whereabouts of his house and parents. The young boy directed the man to an old house in a dilapidated conditions and said : “In this house lives an old blind lady who lost her husband a few months ago. She had a son who migrated to Saudi Arabia some years ago and never came returned to his house again, to see whether his parents are alive or not. What an unfortunate parents and what a selfish son they had ?”
He started walking to that house with slow steps and ultimately enters the house. On reaching there, he found his mother lying on the bed. He tip-toed her as not to wake her up. He heard the mother whispering or mumbling something. He knelled closer to head to hear her voice, and found his mother was saying :
“Ya Allah ! I am now very old and blind. My husband has also just died. There is no mahram to lower me in my grave when I die. So please send my son to fulfil my last wish.”
The last DUA (wish) of that unfortunate mother was accepted by God.
Doctors say that a human body can bear maximum upto 45 del (units) of pain. But at the time of giving birth to a baby, a mother feels up to 57 del (units) of pain ….. This is similar to 20 bones getting fractured, all at the same time !! It is only by the grace of God that mothers are able to bear such a huge degree of pain and still survive, a power and patience bestowed on females alone. All mammals of the world have to pass through this process while giving birth to their young ones.
This is just to tell you the extent to which a mother bears even an unbearable pain, to give life to a new soul. She is inclined to do so, because she loves her child and believes that the new born is a gift of God to her! Love your mom till she breathes her last or till the end of your own life. The lady with whom you fight almost every day, suffered so much pain just to give you a beautiful life ! Please don’t neglect your parents, particularly, your mother.
I Love my Mother. Happy Mother’s Day!!!
