SUB : ARE WE REALLY FREE CITIZENS? — ARE WE REALLY LIVING IN A FREE COUNTRY?
Dear Mr. Chidambaram,
ARE WE REALLY LIVING IN A FREE COUNTRY AS FREE CITIZENS OR IS IT THAT WE ARE LIVING IN A MAKE BELIEVE WORLD BY THINKING AND ASSUMING SO OR IS IT THAT THE SO CALLED 1947 INDEPENDENCE WAS A MERE TRANSITION FROM ONE SET OF IMPERIALISTS, THE BRITISHERS, TO ANOTHER SET OF IMPERIALISTS, THE INDIANS?
We are living in a country where in remote areas the local population have to protect the forest cover armed with bows & arrows from none other than FOREST DEPARTMENT OFFICIALS. Are we really living in a free country?
We are living in a country where villagers of a village namely MANGER in Faridabad District of Haryana are fighting a losing battle to retain the forest cover in their area against CORRUPT BABUS & CORRUPT POLITICIANS who want to snatch away such a valuable national treasure from the villagers so that they in collusion with each other can mint thousands of crores by way of grant change of land use to builders. The Judiciary is well aware of this but unfortunately is seemingly maintaining a studied stoic silence. Are we really living in a free country?
We are living in a country were poor cycle rickshaw walas have to pay bribes amounting to crores of rupees to corrupt BABUS of the MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF DELHI every year so that they can manage to keep themselves & their families alive. Are we really living in a free country?
We are living in a country where a LADY SARPANCH (daughter of an army officer), MBA by qualification lives a plush & cushy job so that she could do good to the poor of her village in RAJASTHAN but she is not allowed to do so by the corrupt BABUS just because she has no political affiliations. The corrupt BABUS in collusion with their POLITICAL MASTERS are deliberately doing so because they cannot mint money in collusion with their POLITICAL MASTERS if the Lady Sarpanch succeeds in her noble mission. Are we living in free country?
We are living in country where the S.H.O. of one of the 177 Police Station’s in DELHI confides that the average staff strength of each Police Station is about 100 which makes for about 20,000 police personnel at the most and about 8,000 police personnel are engaged in protecting CORRUPT POLITICIANS & BABUS. This accounts for about 28,000 personnel of the 83,000 strong DELHI POLICE. Where are the balance 55,000 Delhi Police Personnel. Are we really living in a free country wherein the facts are concealed by those who are wielding power & authority?
We are living in a country where VICTIMS OF CRIME are treated as dirt and are deliberately denied their right of getting a F.I.R. Registered by the CORRUPT POLICE. Are we really living in a free country?
We are living in a country where whenever the POLICE register a F.I.R. (a rarity) heinous crimes committed are diluted by the POLICE (a routine feature) so that Criminals can get away lightly. Are we living in a free country?
We are living in a country where a CHIEF MINISTER of a state grants about 18 acres of prime land in MUMBAI to a Film Producer at a throwaway price so that he can secure his beloved son’s acting career in Bollywood. Are we living in a free country?
We are living in a country where a PRIVATE SECTRETARY to a CHIEF MINISTER confides that if the CHIEF MINISTER makes 400 crores in a year by approving change of land use on the request of builders and I merely make 04 crores out of it. Am I really corrupt? I am made to do all the dirty work. Are we living in a free country?
We are living in a country where the government of every state is run solely at the whims, fancies & idiosyncrasies of one man/woman who is none other than the CHIEF MINISTER of the State. Even his/her cabinet is at his/her mercy and subservient to him/her. The entire EXCECUTIVE of the state has to faithfully follow the directions that are conveyed to them verbally by the CHIEF MINISTER and the EXECUTIVE are experts in make files move with notings that are in consonance with the verbal directions of the CHIEF MINISTER. In practice every state in India is the personal fiefdom of the CHIEF MINISTER of that state. Are we living in free country?
We have more than required evidence on hand with us to substantiate what ever little has been brought out in this Edition,

MERELY DISCUSSING ISSUES SITTING IN CLOSED AIRCONDITIONED ROOMS ARE NOT GOING TO BE OF ANY USE. LET US BE PRACTICAL IF WE ARE REALLY INTERESTED IN SECURING THE FUTURE OF OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS & DO NOT WANT THEM TO LIVE LIKE SLAVES.
