They shouted at top of their voices about supremacy of the Parliament !!!
On midnight of 29th Dec we all witnessed the kind of parliament we have.
I feel ashamed of being governed by such a parliament.
I feel agitated that our so called representatives are completely insensitive to the need of the people who sent them to the parliament and need of the country.
Chairman Rajya Sabha allowed the debates and speeches to linger on endlessly to waste time so that the debates were completed just before midnight and there was no time left for the voting. He adjourned the Rajyasabha despite majority of the house willing to sit through and take on the passage of bill. (Then they say that Loksabha Speaker and Rajyasabha chairman are apolitical !!!)
Congress government tried to fool the nation by bringing in the Lokpal Bill but making it ineffective by keeping the control over selection and dismissal of Lokpal, control over investigations and making the redress against corruption process as complicated and lengthy as posible.
BJP played a clever game by deciding to support the TMC in asking for removal of provision of Lokayukta from the bill . They knew that government will not be able to accept that having boasted so much about commitment to the sense of house resolution.
TMC decided to oppose the government by deciding to bring amendment to remove all clauses concerning appointing Lokayuktas in states. (Though every one knows that most of the corruption is in states as and most of India lives in states).
RJD decided to create ruckus and halt the proceeding by tearing the government reply.
Ram Vilas Paswan decided to reject to Idea of Lokpal itself through his senseless speech.
THEY TELL US THAT THE PARLIAMENT IS SUPREME. THEREFORE WE HAVE TO SUBMIT TO THE LOOTING OF COUNTRY BY PEOPLE IN POWER AND THE GOVERNMENT MACHINERY.
We will not accept this nonsense. The country is ours. The country belongs to our children. We will not allow a few handfuls of insensitive, selfish people to loot our country and weaken her.
We are the country of brave hearts. Our decency and respect for the democratic means is not to be mistaken as cowardice.
We will rise. We will rise in each family, locality, and community, to fight the corruption thrust upon us.
