Sri Venkateshwar International School, Sec-18, Dwarka celebrated its Annual Sports Day recently. The event showcased the physical agility and versatility of the students.
Mr. Bhanu Sachdeva, Arjuna Awardee and an ace swimmer graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Gp. Capt Ishwar Singh, Advisor Venkateshwar Group of Schools, The School Chairman Mr. Sailendar Solanki were the Guests of Honour. The Principal Ms. Nita Arora welcomed the parents and the guests to this kinaesthetic display of talent.
The synchronised and upbeat movements of the March Past led by the Junior School captain Krishan Vardhan Sharma reflected the pride exuded by each student. The House Captains and Vice- Captains led their respective contingents upholding the stateliness.
With the oath, the spirit of healthy competitive spirit was imbibed and promised by each venkateshwarite and the sports meet was declared open.
The National and State level sports winners upheld the torch showing the potential to and better their incredible performance at each given opportunity. The motley programme began with the cheerleaders infusing enthusiasm that reflected in the performance through the day. The Hoopla and the Umbrella Drill by the second graders mesmerised the spectators with their routines. The marvelous Taekwondo display by the third graders reaffirmed the commitment of the students towards striving for perfection.
The Flat, Obstacle and Relay races kept the audience on tenterhooks as the nail-biting finish ensured a grand conclusion. The heartening words of the Chief Guest infused confidence in the students to go higher and perform better. Ms Malini Pandey, Primary Coordinator proposed the vote of thanks. The event concluded with the promise of witnessing exalting performances in the near future.
