Dwarka Forum & Horticulture Department of DDA/ Traffic Police/ BSES conducted a Joint Survey

Dwarka Forum (in association with Horticulture Department of Delhi Development Authority / Traffic Police/ BSES) conducted a Joint Survey on Saturday, the 29th June, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon starting from DDA Sports Complex, Sector -11, Dwarka, covered maximum Sectors i.e. Sectors : 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, 23, 22, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 etc of Dwarka Sub City and ended at Sports Complex, Dwarka, New Delhi.

The decision to conduct JOINT SURVEY was taken pursuant to the various Dwarka Forum meetings with DDA, Traffic Police and BSES etc in last few months.

Shri Jamil Ahmed, Deputy Director (Horticulture), Delhi Development Authority, Shri S.K. Dagar, Deputy General Manager (Street Lights), BSES and Ms Archana Andkey, Traffic Inspector (Dwarka) along with some of their colleagues participated in the Survey.

During the Joint Survey, more than 15 sites were noticed, where Traffic Signals were found partially covered with branches of Trees and even Street light poles. Dwarka Forum also noticed more than 50 Street lights poles covered with branches of Trees. In some areas of Sub City, it was noticed that most of the road side trees covered with branches of trees, caused complete darkness.

Dwarka Forum also received photographs with locations from residents of various sectors, where the street lights poles/ Traffic Signals were found covered by branches of trees. All concerned Officials took a note of points related to their department. Shri Jamil Ahmed, Deputy Director (Horticulture) assured early action on pruning of trees as per their guidelines. Similarly Shri S. K. Dagar, Deputy General Manager (Street Lights) BSES assured action on priority, where street light poles are covering the traffic signals. Ms Archana Andley, Traffic Inspector (Dwarka) assured to provide all help to both the departments, wherever required. After compiling of data, Dwarka Forum will prepare and submit a Report to all concerned departments. Mr A.S.Chhatwal, General Secretary, Dwarka Forum said more such initiatives /activities will be taken in near future to make Dwarka more safe and beautiful.
