There is a good news for the old people as the Govt. of Delhi proposes to finance setting up of Recreation Centres exclusively for Senior Citizens in different parts of Delhi. Mrs. Saroj Rawat-Deputy Director-Department of Social Welfare, Delhi Govt. informed Dwarka Parichay that Registered Senior Citizens Association/ NGOs/ RWAs who are exclusively working on the issue related to the welfare of senior citizens can apply. They should submit the documents like copy of Registration Certificate, Copy of Memorandum of association, Certified copy of Rules & Regulations, Certified list of Managing Committee, List of 50 members along with their name/age/address, proof of accommodation whether rented/allotted/own premise, annual report of organization & audited balance sheet of last three years.
The Department of Social Welfare will provide one time grant of Rs.75,000/- and monthly grant of Rs.20,000/- for running the centre. Copy of the scheme, application form and other details can be downloaded from Social Welfare Scheme . Last of submission of application form along with the requisite document is 15th Dec., 2011.
