‘Everyone deserves happiness-sensitizing the Summer Camp Participants’
No-Tobacco Day
World Health Organization declared 31st May as World No-Tobacco Day. Eco-Club of school in association with Orange-Cross involved the Summer Campers in spreading the message about the hazards of Tobacco consumption. The programme included:
• Pre-event talks
• Street play
• Feedback based on the questionnaire
• Pasting of No-Tobacco Day posters in some Govt. offices, District Court Sec-9, Dwarka, Police Station Sec-19, Dwarka
Here is a quick look on the statistics obtained from the survey which helped us to draw the following conclusion: majority were aware about the harmful effects of smoking and didn’t wish their children to take up the habit. Only smokers were apprehensive about being a possible role model and also showed an equal amount of confusion when posed the question- Whether it is possible to quit smoking. Others were quite sure that smoking is not desirable and if caught in the web, a smoker can quit with help of family and experts. But the urge to quit smoking has to come from within and this is where we were successful and almost everybody agreed to join the Anti-Tobacco Campaign.
