UVNAC, 21st April 2010: The much discussed ‘3rd Hum Kishore Festival ‘ a Competitive event for the adolescents started today with a great fanfare in the UVNAC building at Sec 22, Dwarka.. There were more than a hundred students for today’s Events alone. The participants were from various prestigious private and government schools from Dwarka, and other parts of Delhi.
Some of the participating schools in today’s events i.e. Darohar( Indian Classical Dance), Rang de Basanti(Painting Competition – Juniors) Artist Oho( Painting Competition – Seniors) were Venkateshwara International School( Sec 18, Dwarka), J.M. International School , N. K Bagrodia School, Kendriya Vidyalaya( S.P.G. Sec 8, Dwarka) Heera Public School , just to name a few.
The 3rd Hum Kishore Festival started with the symbolic event of ‘ Lighting of the lamp’ by eminent personalities like Shri Naresh Lamba, President of the Social Development Welfare Society; Mrs. Manimala Roy( Principal , Bassava International School) ; Mr. Kuldeep Singh Solanki, ( Secretary,360 SARVKHAT Panchayat); Dr. U.N.B Rao( Founder & Chairman- Urivi Vikram Charitable Trust), Mrs Urivi Chaya Rao (Founder Trustee & mother of Late Urivi Vikram) , Mrs Vishala Jaidev.(Secretary of the Maharashtra Chapter of UVCT) and many other well known people from various walks of life.
The Indian Classical dancers made all the spectator’s hearts fill with pride at our rich cultural heritage. We should thank all the members of the governing body of U.V.C.T to have created this wonderful platform for the students to showcase and keep alive the innate talents in them. Three Schools have been short listed in Darohar, the Claassical dance, for the 2nd round at the ‘Grand Finale’ to be held at C.C.R.T Auditorium Sector 7, Dwarka in the evening of 25th April 2010. Smt Krishna Tirath, Hon’ble Minister for Women & Child Development (Government of India) has kindly agreed to be the Chief Guest.
Schedule for next four days shall continue with about 35 schools participating by now, perhaps with greater gusto, at UVNAC (22ND, 23rd and 24th l ) and CCRT Auditorium (23rd and 25th April). All participants are being awarded Certificate of Participation.
