As a part of exchange program 80 students of of Nirmal Bhartia School, Sector 14, Dwarka, New Delhi along with their teachers visited Kerala Education Society Senior Secondary School, Canning Road (SMS Marg), New Delhi-1. Students from NiBS as a part of their SEWA (Social Environmental Welfare Action) project conducted a workshop on ways to recycle and reuse plastic. The focus was on scientific way of ‘E-Waste Management’ as many of the electronic items are made up of re-engineered plastic. Properly segregating and sending them to a recycling facility is essential to ensure that our children live in a pollution free world. Such exchange programmes provide students with a greater range of learning opportunities and experiences. Mr. Hemant Bagai from Terrapro Recycling conducted an interactive session on Introduction to E waste segregation. There after the students took a pledge to launch E-waste drive. Kerala Education Society Secretary General PK Ravindranathan, Principal Sri Harikumar and coordinator of the program from NiBS Mrs Rema also spoke. At the end of the program 16 children from NiBS presented a street play (nukkad natak). |
