Tere Mere Geet- Season 6, a hindi film songs based singing event organized by Age Well Association at Happy Home Apartments, Sector 7, Dwarka on 10th March, 2024 received thumping applause from the invited audience of Dwarka, assembled in huge numbers to witness the event. With the monumental success of earlier five annual musical events, Age Well Association, Dwarka once again exceled in their mission to entertain Dwarkaites and at the same time succeeded in providing a platform to many senior citizens to beat monotony of the routine life.
Contestants of Tere Mere Geet included both established and amateur singers, including lifetime members of Age Well Association who possess talent in singing sans a platform to exhibit their flair.
Dr Shailesh Kumar Singh and Dr Shikha Ganguly co-judged the event and evaluated the performance of contestants. Shashi Jain anchored the programme with her unique and vivid presentation and Pradeep Sharma coordinated the event with his technical expertise.
The format of the singing event had two categories, predominantly comprising of senior citizen singers. Top four contestants from both these groups were declared winners and were awarded mementos. Rachna Wadhwani from group A of less than 60 years catagory was adjudged winner followed by Pawan Sood, Shyam Gogia and Raj Singhania for second, third and consolation prizes respectively. Similarly, for group B of 60 plus age group, Renu Pathania notched up first position whereas Sheel Kumar received second prize and Sanjeev Arora and Raghubir Mathur were declared joint winner for the third prize. Life Time Achievement Award was presented to Rakesh Chhabra, who is well regarded amongst the music lovers from Dwarka for his wholesome contribution in promoting music in Dwarka and across NCR.
Earlier, I M Khanna, President of Age Well Association welcomed the gathering, invited dignitaries for lighting of the lamp and honoured special guests and the guests of honour. The list included Dr Kirti Kale, poetess of International fame, Sudha Sinha, eminent social worker and journalist, Viji Varghese, director of Manipal Hospitals and Kavita Saxena, founder of Umang Foundation, a well known musical group, Important invitees who were honoured and recognised for their outstanding services to dwarkaites included Balbir Singh Yadav, G R Sehgal, Ms.Neelam Maini, S S Maan, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, S K Dagar, Pawan Goel, Satish Nagpal, Vinod Vohra and many more. Members of MC, Happy Home Society were welcomed.
Playlist of songs included some of yesteryears evergreen melodies. The audience remained drowned in the rhythm of their favorite songs. Soulful singing of songs from movies like Dard, Lal Quila, Amar Prem, Padosan, Bees Saal Baad, Chori Chori, Khamoshi on one side and lighter melodies from An Evenjng in Paris, Pyar ka Mausam, Parasmani and Don thrilled the audience and energized a few to dance to the tunes. Pradeep Sharma and Jaya Sharma of Mukesh Smriti Kala Sangam fame performed a duet to the liking of spellbound crowd.
President of the Association, I M Khanna was in all praise for the participants, members and the team managing the event. He thanked all the guests for their gracious presence. Success of the event has given us huge encouragement to chalk out more programmes for the benefit of residents of Dwarka , he said.
