Municipal Corporation of Delhi has recently launched a tax Amnesty scheme SUNIYO 2025-26 starting from 1st Jun 2025 and will be applicable till Sep 30, 2025. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the taxpayers about the scheme. Mr Ajay Kumar, Jt Assessor & Collector, Najafgarh Zone said that this scheme is very beneficial for those taxpayers who could not pay property tax in the previous years due to some reason.

This scheme is a golden opportunity to get rid of the burden of their outstanding tax and interest for all types of properties coming under the jurisdiction of the MCD. Mr Kumar said that the main feature of the scheme is that the taxpayer will have to deposit only the Principal amount of the property tax of the current financial year 2025-26 and the last 5 years, 2020-21 to 2024-25 without any interest and penalty. Upon availing the benefits of this scheme, all the previous dues related to property tax will stand waived off. Mr Kumar has also informed that an additional rebate of 10% is also being given with regard to the property tax for the current year 2025-26 on payment of property tax by Jun 30, 2025. He further highlighted that more than 100 camps have also been organised in Najafgarh Zone so far.
The benefit of the scheme may be availed through applying online by visiting the MCD website www.mcdonline.nic.in. For the convenience of taxpayers of Najafgarh Zone, a helpline number 011-20892592 has also been started. Mode of payment for of property tax will be through online only.
