Indira Gandhi National Open University Retired Employees Welfare Association (IGNOU-REWA) in association with “CENTRE FOR SIGHT: Eye Institute” Sector-9, Dwarka, New Delhi organised a Health Talk Session on “ADVANCES IN CATARACT AND GLAUCOMA : Eye diseases” on Saturday, the12th October, 2019 at Hospital premises. Professor Pandav Nayak was the Chief Guest. Whereas, Professor A.S. Narang, Professor B. S. Saraswat and Professor T. U. Fulzele were the Guests of Honour.
Dr (Maj Gen) Sagarika Patyal, Senior Consultant, “Center for Sight: Eye Institute” addressed the gathering on the Cataract and Gloucoma eye diseases in details. During the session, more emphasise was given on prevention from these diseases. Dr Patyal also briefed the importance of early diagnosis of these diseases and shared the best treatment available for these diseases.
A lot of attendees raised the queries related to both the topics, which were well answered by the Speaker upto their satisfaction. Besides the retired employees of the University, good number of in-service employees and local residents attended the session. The session was followed by Lunch. Members appreciated the session and requested IGNOU – REWA to have more such academic sessions on various other diseases. Shri A. S. Chhatwal, President of IGNOU-REWA assured to organise more such sessions in the near future
