A Mini-Marathon with the theme “Keep Dwarka City Clean” was organized at Apeejay Campus, Dwarka on Sunday, October 28. The effort was to sensitize the community particularly the residents of Dwarka about clean environment in the neighborhood.
Mr. S.K. Kapoor, Former Director General, Doordarshan and All India Radio, Dr Alok Saklani, Director, Apeejay School Of management flagged off the marathon. Hundreds of students of Apeejay and different schools, faculty, staff of Apeejay School of Management and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication and also the residents of the Dwarka housing societies participated in the 6.5 kilometer long marathon. The participants were from age three to late eighties who shared the same enthusiasm and spirit regardless their age.
Addressing the participants, Mr. S.K. Kapoor appreciated the theme of keeping our city clean. He valued the efforts of the Apeejay Institutes in organizing such functions regularly as part of their social commitment towards the society.
The winners were given prizes in different categories with Mr. Rinku bagging the first prize and Mr. Sunder bagging the second prize in the open category. Seema won in the women’s category. Nitin won in the Apeejay student’s category. Mr. N.C. Mahato won in the Senior Citizen category (above 60). Jai Veer Singh won in the student’s category.
