DWARKA FORUM (DF) organised meeting with Ms Kamaljeet Sehrawat, (Leader of house SDMC) at Community Centre, Sector -23, Dwarka, New Delhi on Saturday the 29th December, 2018. Deputy Commissioners (Nazafgarh Zone) along with other Senior Officers of South Delhi Municipal Corporation were also present.
DF raises concern on Pollution in Sub City, Solid waste management, Garbage collection and Segregation, Sweeping of Roads, De-silting of SW drains, poor condition Dustbins installed and Dhalaos, Public Toilets etc. DF handed over a letter to DC giving the details of such issues. Deputy Commissioner (SDMC) assured to sort out most of the issues within a stipulated time frame. He said improvement can be seen in cleaning of dhalaos, Dustbins, roads, footpaths etc. Regarding solid waste management pilot project is working satisfactorily and soon it will be implemented at big scale for entire Dwarka Sub City. Some residents of Sector 23 objected that in the process of composting, emission of gas may create pollution. DC assured that it will be assessed by expert team of DPCC and ensured that residents will not suffer.
Some residents raised the issue of mismanagement at SDMC’s Cremation Ground of Sector -24, Dwarka. DC assured to streamline the system and offered to take the responsibility by any NGO / Association.
