Enthralling performance by budding children of BUDDING BLOSSOMS

It was a Sunday evening and the atmosphere at Delhi Karnataka Sangha, witness to many professional cultural performances was resplendent with enthusiastic parents of children studying in BUDDING BLOSSOMS, the education wing of SUNAINA- Society for the Upliftment of National Arts of India, a registered non-profitable organization located in Krishna Park, Tilak Nagar, West Delhi. These children, hailing from families of all strata including daily wagers were all agog to perform at ANOKHE – the 4th Annual Day function of BUDDING BLOSSOMS.

The Chief Guests on the occasion were Dwarka based Swami Sanjay Biswanath, Founder of “Journey of Success Welfare Foundation” and Shri C M Nagaraj, General Secretary of Karnataka Sangha. The Chief Guests were welcomed by Sm.t Mythili Attavar General Secretary, SUNAINA.

The show commenced with the traditonal Pushpanjali with rhythmic steps by tiny girls Adhya, Aditi, Gomati, Hridika and Rachael. This was followed by a presentation on the activities of the SUNAINA, Guru Smt Kanaka Sudhakar, Founder-Director. She explained the importance of imparting holistic education to a child, irrespective of his or her background. The activities of the society include art, education and research, carried out by its three wings, viz. Nrityabharati, BMSCAC and KALA KHOJ. 

This was followed by the performances of tiny tots who presented a variety of song and dance sequences. Children of pre-nursery, nursery, L.KG UKG Class 1, 2 and 3 displayed their talent and held centre-stage. Some of the performers as young as two and a half! Some of the noteworthy performances were “Sha La La “ in which the nursery children dressed in violet and green showed the beauty of nature. “Maine Kaha Phoolon Se” by Jasmine student of Class 3 girl was indeed a noteworthy performance. The main attraction was the “UNIVERSAL CIRCUS”, conceptualized by Principal Geetha Balasubramaniam. Children from all classes depicted snarling tigers, dancing elephants, funny clowns, cute parrots – even the strong weight lifter – and won great applause from the large audience.

Swami Sanjay Biswanath and Sh Nagaraj felicitated the children with mementos and certificates. She Biswanath commented on the importance of education to make a leader out of any child and appreciated the contribution of the NGO SUNAINA to this cause. Assuring SUNAINA of his support at all times, he wished the children all success, concluding his address with the famous GURU MANTHRA.

Such schools run by NGOs are doing yeoman service to society by running educational institutes for all children and SUNAINA SOCIETY’s BUDDING BLOSSOMS unique contribution in this field is an example worthy of emulation.
